We are seeking volunteers for the following positions:

Fund raising Manager

General Description
To raise funds to support KEDEA Development Organization on its effort to assist community development in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an effective fundraising strategy, in line with the organisation’s goals and objectives
  • Assist the organization to develop a three years strategic plan
  • Undertake donor intelligence research for potential donors
  • Identify organizations, foundations, corporations and opportunities to cultivate prospective donors
  • Write proposals and submit to potential donors for funding
  • Manage and develop relationships with current and potential donors
  • Create partnerships which can generate funds for the programme
  • Create an on-line donation programme
  • Recruit and train volunteers in order to create a pool of volunteers who can assist with different aspects of fundraising
  • Develop and implement grassroots marketing to increase awareness, including development of an annual marketing plan, news releases; building and maintaining media/marketing database and increasing social media presence
  • Develop marketing strategy and plan for fundraising events
  • Develop fundraising and marketing presentations and videos
  • Maintain an accurate and complete donor and prospective donor database
  • Farm manager

    General Description
    A farm manager will work in crop, livestock production and in mixed farming. He / She will be responsible for managing staff, planning production targets, and marketing and selling produce. You will need excellent people managing skills, business skills, a good head for figures and the ability to get the most out of your team. You’ll usually need a driving license, a vehicle will be provided for you.
    Jos Description
    As a farm manager, you will work and supervise staff in our three main types of farm - livestock (animals), arable (crops) and mixed (animals and crops). Your work will include:
  • planning how the farm will run over the coming year
  • setting budget and production targets
  • buying and selling animals or produce
  • keeping financial records and records of livestock and/or crops
  • recruiting, training and supervising staff
  • Develop and agro-tourism plan and market it
  • Fund raising
  • Poultry farm expert

    Job Description
  • Raises poultry to produce eggs and meat.
  • Feeds and waters poultry.
  • Cleans and disinfects poultry houses, cages, and nests.
  • Places vaccines in drinking water, injects vaccines into poultry, or dusts air with vaccine powder to vaccinate poultry against diseases.
  • Inspects and disposes of or segregates infected poultry.
  • Collects, inspects, and packs eggs and selects and crates pullets and fryers for shipment.
  • Maintains growth, feed, and production records.
  • Arranges with wholesalers for sale of poultry and eggs.
  • May hire and supervise workers.
  • May incubate fertile eggs.

    Jos Description
    In pursuit of its strategic goals of poverty reduction and small and medium enterprise development, the KODEA Group is providing technical skills to village Yong people in Kilimahewa village to develop incoming generating skills. The technical skills among other things will focus on training young people to make soap.
  • Provide theoretical training on soap making.
  • Provide practical application training on soap making.
  • Experience making soap is required.

    Jos Description
  • Start up a bee keeping project
  • Raises bees to produce honey and pollinate crops: Assembles beehives, using hand tools.
  • Arranges with sellers for purchases of honeybee colonies.
  • Inserts honeycomb of bees into beehive or inducts wild swarming bees into hive of prepared honeycomb frames.
  • Places screen plug in hive entrance to confine bees and sets hive in orchard, clover field, or near other source of nectar and pollen.
  • Forces bees from hive, using smoke pot or by placing carbolic acid soaked pad over hive to inspect hive and to harvest honeycombs.
  • Scrapes out parasites, such as wax moth larvae, and removes vermin, such as birds and mice.
  • Collects royal jelly from queen bee cells for sale as base for cosmetics and as health food.
  • Destroys superfluous queen bee cells to prevent division of colony by swarming.
  • Destroys diseased bee colonies.
  • Burns hive of diseased bee colony or sterilizes hive, using caustic soda solution.
  • Uncaps harvested honeycombs and extracts honey.
  • Arranges with buyers for sale of honey.
  • May cultivate bees to produce bee colonies and queen bees for sale and be designated Bee Producer; Queen Producer.
